Just a couple of things I forgot to put in the last section; it's just as important to remember who did what to whom, not just when. I recall a story read many years ago about a character who killed another, only to have the dead character show up later in the story. As it turns out, it was a continuity glitch that obviously wasn't caught by the author or editor; the dead character's reappearance was in flashback, though the way it was written didn't reflect that.
So be careful with those major events, and if you return to a time before things happen, be sure it's spelled out. Even if you, the author, knows what's going on, that doesn't mean the reader will follow if you don't give them the heads-up.
