Surviving the Storm

Brrrrr!!!!!  It's freakin' COLD out there.
Lots of the country is locked in a major arctic front, from the Great Northwest all the way to Florida.  I spoke with a customer in Miami today and was told it's going to be in the 30's tonight.  While that's about 40 deg. warmer than it will be here, the point is, few people in Miami have furnaces in their houses!  So many homes will be no-kidding COLD, inside and out.
Which brings me to the topic; how do you best cope with the cold?  Severe heat is tough but in my opinion, the cold can beat it hands down.  I'm fortunate to have a warm house and plenty of blankets at night.  I've known people who aren't nearly as lucky and from time to time have lent a hand when needed.  My friends know if their furnace goes out or if they have a problem with their house, they can always crash at my place for a while.
Sipping on hot tea is good; maybe a cup o' soup or some noodles, something to warm the tummy.  Curling up with a good book is cozy, too, as it can take your mind off the chill.  Heck, I've had plenty of times everyone just bundled up and headed for a restaurant and sat around chatting over coffee and cake.
Whatever your pleasure, be sure to dress warmly when you go out and drive safely!  And drop us a note at Facebook and let us know how you're dealing with a pretty nasty January.
